The Fayetteville Resistance Coalition is partnering with Common Defense for the September 26th stop in Fayetteville for Operation Take Up Space. We’ll gather at 10 AM at the Umoja Wall of Honor mosaic mural at Fayetteville State University and walk together 1.6 miles to the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum, where veterans, military families, and community members will hold an anti-war demonstration.

As veterans, we know the cost of war. We also know that our commitment to the country doesn't end when we take off the uniform. We can stand for peace. We can defend free and fair elections. We can protect the right of every person to participate in our democracy. And we can use our voices and our service to help build something better. On September 26, we won't be doing it alone: across the country, people will be taking up space in their own communities—organizing, gathering, protecting elections, and reminding one another that democracy belongs to all of us. But resistance is only half the story. Because taking up space isn't just about standing against something. It's about building something and remembering that we do that together.

After the rally, we’re heading to Carolina Indie Fest at Hugger Mugger Brewing in Sanford to celebrate exactly what we’re fighting for: art, music, friendship, creativity, community, and joy.

We’ll have voter registration available throughout the festival, live music, local artists, community partners—and a special beer brewed for the occasion.
