PACK THE ROOM - CITY COUNCIL

PACK THE ROOM - CITY COUNCIL

PACK THE ROOM

City Council will be voting on proposed unconstitutional changes to picketing ordinances during Monday's (APR 27) regularly scheduled meeting, which begins at 6:30PM.

They are also receiving the moratoria brief from the legal team regarding data centers (with no action to be taken other than receiving the brief).

Regarding the picketing ordinances, it appears the proposed changes are no different from what they were when the motion was passed last time to move it for more discussion and bring it up at a later date. So it's unclear what, if anything, has happened since the first time it was brought up for a vote. There should have been ample notice and an opportunity for public comment, but that's of course an ongoing issue we've been trying to address.

Click here to view the summary of proposed changes, to including a cute little graphic to explain the buffer zones for outside dining areas.

One of the biggest changes is the buffer zones which of course are tailored specifically for Hay Street (even though it doesn't say it)...and anyone that has done actions on Hay Street can see how the proposed changes would make it virtually impossible to march and picket on Hay Street without breaking the law.

The other big change would be requiring an intent to picket form be filed, even for one person vs 10 or more people as it currently stands. This is an infringement on 1st Amendment rights.

This affects virtually everyone in the activism space, so please show up, bring a sign (that will not interfere with other attendees), and show the City Council that We The People are watching and will hold them accountable.

PACK THE ROOM

PACK THE ROOM - VOTER PROTECTION

4:00PM - Cumberland County Board of Elections located at 227 Fountainhead Lane, Fayetteville, NC 28301

The Cumberland County Board of Elections is seeking to fire Director Angie Amaro for reasons that are being kept secret from the public.

This follows an alarming trend here in NC and across the nation of Republican majority election boards seeking removal of officials using surreptitious pretexts.

We The People demand transparency by ending the abuse of closed door sessions. Please attend this "Special Meeting" and bring signs to convey your demands (e.g, Transparency Now!, Free Elections!, etc). Signs must not interfere with other attendees' so keep them reasonable in size but legible. Recommended standard 8.5" x 11" paper.

STOP THE MADNESS! - IMPEACH.CONVICT.REMOVE.

Theme for March 18th IMPEACH - CONVICT - REMOVE

This is not business as usual—our government is spiraling into chaos: reckless, unaccountable, and out of control. Our Representatives must restore order, draw the line, and put the people first. Congress must act and Stop the Madness!

This is a recurring protest each Wednesday. Themes change each week. FRC will provide banners and signs to participants. In addition to our physical presence we will have action item(s) for participants to engage in so that we are turning protest into action. Stop by, take action - stay for as long as you wish.

Impeachment is how the constitution says "No Kings!"

Moore County Democratic Party, Southern Pines PFLAG, the Fayetteville Resistance Coalition (FRC)...in coordination with FLARE USA, Citizens' Impeachment, other concerned citizens will join together in leading constituents into the local/in-district office of Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09) to engage with staffers to lobby for impeachment while also conveying their grievances and demands for accountability.

NO KINGS

We have the power and are claiming it together.

No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

Now with MORE marching! We heard your feedback and taking steps to make this event even better than before! We're also collecting non-perishable food items for local food pantries so bring non-perishable food items and drop them in the provided bins.

Featuring keynote speakers and U.S. Congressional Candidates Dr. Kimberly Hardy and U.S. Army Ret. Richard Ojeda.

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
